The Veil presents a sacred artifact within Saint Vincent de Paul Church. Parishoners enter the sanctuary after passing through doors of the Veil. According to Matthew 27:51, as Christ died on the cross "the veil of [Solomon's] temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom". Biblical signifigance of the destroyed veil is that the holiest part of the temple was no longer available only to high priests—anyone could directly approach God.
